Training
– IPC regularly organizes specialized training for reporters and editors. Topics usually covered include: corruption & budget reporting, political & governance reporting, development & public interest reporting, conflict sensitive & tolerance reporting, grassroots & neglected communities reporting, poverty reporting, traffic-in-persons reporting, ICTs and media.

Media Monitoring & Evaluation – IPC monitors media coverage of development issues, governance issues, politics, budget & corruption, ICTs and media, trade, environment, conflict, HIV/AIDS 

Advocacy & Campaigns – IPC is a leading advocate for legal and institutional frameworks that promote freedom of the press, freedom of expression, citizens’ right of access to information, media independence & self regulation and media development

Research & Documentation – IPC through its research and documentation department offers materials for media and academic researchers on contemporary national, regional and international issues  

Publishing – IPC publishes media guide books on investigative journalism, conflict sensitive journalism, corruption and budget reporting, election reporting, development and public interest reporting and community reporting  

Media Library – IPC’s library has books and journals on diverse topics including the media, conflict management and resolution, development and international politics

Networking – Pursuant to the fulfilment of its objectives, IPC networks with other media support groups and civil society coalitions including the Freedom of Information Coalition, Zero Corruption Coalition and Electoral Reform Network
